From the first day we toured, Meraki struck as a healthy, safe and stimulating environment for our child. At  Discovery Childcare, we follow the national Early Years and Learning Framework and National Quality Standards to ensure that children receive a high-quality early childhood education. Before starting school, children should have a foundation in key areas such as literacy, numeracy,  and social skills. Our educators help children learn these skills through play-based learning, nature and experiences that are tailored to each child’s individual needs and interests. This approach draws on the teachings of the Danish Forest School, Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Steiner philosophies, creating a holistic and well-rounded educational experience for children at our centres.
We recognise the individuality of every child and take a holistic approach towards early education and care by accommodating the unique emotional, physical and psychological needs of every child. I’ve learned that every child is unique, each with their own learning style. Children can teach us as much as we teach them, making it important to spend time exploring, playing and learning together. I aim to create a warm, nurturing and fun learning environment that fosters a love of learning, helping each child reach their full potential. Our carefully designed cultural curriculum is an essential component that enriches children’s appreciation and understanding of Indigenous Australian cultures. It fosters a spirit of respect and inclusivity through a blend of storytelling, traditional art, and shared activities. Such engagement offers children profound life lessons and a deeper connection with the land and its original custodians.

It is a place where friends feel like family and children can truly be themselves. We are committed to ensuring all children feel loved, accepted, and secure. We focus on the children’s health and wellbeing as a whole and strongly believe the best outcomes for children are achieved when they have access to an indoor and outdoor program. All our kindergarten or preschool programs follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), a national learning framework for Australia. These programs are delivered by qualified and passionate Early Childhood Educators and Teachers. Our Curriculum accommodates each individual child’s learning, development, and well-being.

The centre provides a fun and safe environment for children and includes every modern amenity one could hope for. We see it as our privilege and responsibility to equip children with the tools and experiences they need to reach their full potential in life. Respect is a guiding value of our service, and we believe in the importance of maintaining respectful relationships toward each other, animals and the environment. The foundation of our advanced academic program is based on Danish Forest School philosophy, Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Steiner. It is a program that has been designed to challenge all of our students while remaining flexible enough to accommodate the needs and preferences of your child’s learning.
This approach creates a cosy and home-like atmosphere where children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore and learn at their own pace. Unlike childcare centres of the past, Sunflower was conceived for use by the broader community, whether that's for parent meetings, wider training opportunities for the community or individual rooms that can be booked out via the council. We also believe children are active learners, they are naturally curious and gain confidence as they explore. Therefore, our program focuses on the individual interests and strengths of each child, whilst ensuring they meet their developmental goals.
