Child Care Bayswater North
It is determined by priority access, and the needs of the individual children and groups. Our long day care program operates from our Children and Family Centres. After four long years of neglect by the previous Liberal Government, we are getting on with delivering the services that Victorians need. To enroll in 4-year-old kindergarten, your child must turn 4 years old by April 30 of the year they attend. If your child is not continuing school at Bayswater PS in 2025 please inform the front office staff as you are aware of the new school, you will be moving to.
Kindergarten children have the most structured routine, which encourages self-service and independent feeding. Every day, our curriculum and quality resources turn experiences into lasting learning – from cooking and gardening to science and well-being, every day brings something new. If you would like to get an update on your enrolment at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or call our family support team. Our Family Support team can also help you find an preschool bayswater alternate centre near you, with the same offerings, that might have immediate availability. ‘No Jab No Play’ is the Victorian Government legislation requiring all children to be fully immunised before enrolling in any childcare or kindergarten in Victoria.
As a dedicated childcare photographer, I love visiting Bayswater’s kindergartens and childcare centres, providing a relaxed and fun experience for the little ones. The welcoming atmosphere of Bayswater aligns perfectly with my gentle approach, ensuring children feel comfortable and happy while I photograph them in their familiar play environments. Our centre features engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments, designed to spark curiosity, creativity and a love for learning.
By engaging them in hands-on activities, we foster a sense of responsibility and appreciation for nature. With Child Care Subsidy changes coming in 2026, now’s the perfect time to explore what makes our centres so special. Whether your centre is in Bayswater or in one of its surrounding suburbs, I'm here to make capturing childhood moments simple, natural, and fun. Please feel free to contact us and talk to the educators in the Kindergarten room at any time.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation. On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment.
At our centres, experienced and qualified educators provide a quality education and care program in a welcoming and friendly environment. As you enter our Nursery space, you are immediately transported to a calm oasis. The early learning rooms are filled with soft lighting, textural furnishings, and carefully curated niches where Educators and children can spend quality time together in small groups.
All Kindergarten programs are based on the government-approved Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to ensure the basics are covered for every child. You can be assured the Kindergarten is delivering the minimum standard curriculum if the service has been approved for funding from the government and it is available to you. Kindergartens that have been approved can be identified by the ‘Kinder Tick’ (explained below). To begin school, your child must turn 5 by April 30th in their first year. And, they must be enroled at school by the time they turn 6 unless an exemption applies.
Our qualified Early Childhood Teachers, registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), create a play-based environment that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. St Columba’s Pre-Kindergarten is an educational program available to children who have already turned three years of age. The program is an introduction to our school community, providing a meaningful play-based learning experience whilst nurturing and developing the individual needs of the child in a safe and caring environment. Our Learning Journey Curriculum is designed to be emergent in nature and is guided by the children's interests and incorporates their voice in decision making of experiences provided in our indoor and outdoor environments. Our kindergarten programs are tailored to meet your child’s individual learning needs across numeracy, literacy, emotional and social development, resilience, and self-regulation. Sessional Kindergarten programs don’t typically include meals which are standard in almost all early learning and child care services, so you will be required to provide your own food.
