Our grading is much higher than others, and our standard of NATURAL GRADE is someone else’s standard of CLEAN GRADE. You simply will not find the quality that WOODCUT supplies elsewhere. WOODCUT uses a sawn cut extraction method when extracting the veneer from the logs, which does not degrade the quality of the veneer, as opposed to a sliced cut veneer. In a sliced cut veneer, the timber is softened by boiling it, and peeling the veneers off using a slicer.
Grey Box is very similar to Ironbark in its properties but has a more consistent colour and appearance. Grain is interlocked with a fine texture and very few gum veins are found in Grey Box. There are also many great choices in our showroom to select a shade and wood species that best complements the feeling you are trying to create in your office. Generally straight grain, pin holes and gum veins can be present however these are reduced in higher grade timber. Spotted Gum generally exhibits and wide variation in colour, with frequent presence of wavy grain, and gum vein present but not predominant.
Blue shades pair well with grey flooring – keep a special eye out for pastel blue or navy to create a calming, serene space. Oil Modified Urethanes; are a spirit based waterborne coating with an oil and small amount of urethane in them.
