Our cellars are designed to withstand the test of time and provide a reliable performance. Shadowfax Wines, located in Werribee, is an easy drive down the highway and offers restaurant and event facilities alongside a range of boutique wines. Other varieties sold include penfolds v chardonnay pinot gris, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling pinot noir, shiraz, and the sparkling limited edition Austin’s Cuvee. The range produced by Spence Wines includes a natural sparkling rosé, viognier, shiraz, chardonnay, and pinot noir. The cellar door at this five-star winery is open during weekends for tastings, and the history of grape-growing here stretches back to the 1840s.

With over 500 wines on offer to drink in house or take away, all wines are sourced from small, independent, family-owned producers. Strong relationships built over time allow MCD to source museum releases, back vintages, and small parcel bottling. Groups of 8 or more are offered a guided tasting experience in our marquee area . Group tastings are $10 per person with additional local produce platters for $15 a head available. Since Gino's grandpa was a stonemason, Gino and Peter decided to build the cellar door in the same traditional manner as the rest of Tuscany. Initially, the stone structure was the only area that Gino need in order to produce and store  his wine. But as the company has expanded, the room is now utilised for tastings as well as some storage, and the winemaking, ageing, and bottling processes take place in the sheds located at the back of the property.

Because they are a bit more remote and not close to other Grampians wineries, they are also disease and pest-free, giving them more time to focus on perfecting the perfect grape. Miners Ridge Winery is an interesting option that has recently started producing hand-selected medium-bodied wines onsite after previously only supplying grapes to bigger wineries.
