The variety in the game is pretty good for a platform title, and in order to fully complete it, you have to finish every challenge, which is quite tricky. Each completed mission grants adventure points, used to open reward boxes scattered around the world. The game plays well, even with the PS1’s limited tech, and it set the stage for 3D platformers to come when it first arrived, so it deserves praise if only for its precursor status. This produces a very interesting and quirky take on side-scroller play, and being a treasure title, it packs in great visuals and a well-balanced difficulty.

Blasting bugs with up to four players is a recipe for video game bliss, and Deep Rock Galactic nails the fun of being a space dwarf obsessed with mining and beards. Deep Rock Galactic is steeped in charm, and there are few games that provide such genuine fun in the co-op space. At the beginning of a battle, Kamek can sometimes appear and either flip over or steal most of the player's cards. Once the battle is won, all the stolen cards are regained and additional coins are obtained as well. Dine Tribes features classic match-3 gameplay, something even the dinosaurs would find fun, but introduces a unique movement mechanic, which allows the player to move entire rows and columns with their mighty dinosaur strength.
Your early decks may seem good at the time, but you slowly come to realise they’re packed with filler. Each upgrade is massive and hugely impactful to your deck, you start seeing the lines to victory clearly, you stop getting so many dud turns, and everything feels better. This, at least for me, is when the temptation finally spilled over into action, and I bought the premium pass. This gave me a bunch of extra cards, quality boosters, and card variants which were nice...
