Remapping: Here's How to Do it

The latest phones can run demanding, graphically impressive titles, so ports of popular PC and console games are increasingly common, but they’re not always fun to play with touchscreen controls. But, if you’re playing a multiplayer game with multiple people on the same PC, every player can’t have their own button settings unless you’re using Steam or PlayStation 4 controllers. On the next screen, choose “Button mapping.” This opens the Xbox Accessories app right to its button remapping feature. For example, to replace F1 with F12 as the Help command, choose F1 as the mapped-to key. Or even if you do use it for that purpose, the times that happen could be few and far between compared to how often you may need to mute the TV or do something else.

Once you back out of the screen by hitting B Button (or whatever button you mapped it to) it automatically saves the profile. You can create multiple profiles on your Xbox, and of course at any time you can go back to the default profile as well. Beyond PC compatibility, the Xbox controller boasts native compatibility on Steam Deck, plus recent versions of Android and iOS. So, whether you have a phone or tablet, this controller can easily connect via Bluetooth.
