The latest phones can run demanding, graphically impressive titles, so ports of popular PC and console games are increasingly common, but they’re not always fun to play with touchscreen controls. But, if you’re playing a multiplayer game with multiple people on the same PC, every player can’t have their own button settings unless you’re using Steam or PlayStation 4 controllers. On the next screen, choose “Button mapping.” This opens the Xbox Accessories app right to its button remapping feature. For example, to replace F1 with F12 as the Help command, choose F1 as the mapped-to key. Either click the dropdown menu and select the mapped-to key from the list, or click the Type button and press the key. Quick Resume feature based on the Xbox Velocity Architecture in Xbox Series X

These configurations also stay on the same Xbox console for the former, but carry on with the latter, including the ability to bring them to a PC. The new app launched with Xbox One's recent UI overhaul, and offers far more extensive features if you own the $150 Elite controller. Major Nelson detailed what most users can expect to do with the standard controller.
Up to four DualSense wireless controllers can be connected to one PS5 at any given time. When playing with multiple players locally, the DualSense wireless controller's player indicator (located just under the touch pad) will inform you which player you are. You can remap your controller by simply going into Settings, and then Ease of Access, or by launching the Xbox Accessories App. One of the biggest things with this most recent update, is that Nintendo gave us the ability to easily remap buttons on Joy-Cons, the Pro Controller, or other Switch controllers. That makes the console more accessible to a wide range of players and also allows players to make changes for their own personal comfort.
Customize and synchronize all your components, all from the same easy-to-use software. With a smaller 5MB modular installer and streamlined interface that includes only what you need for your connected iCUE devices, the latest version of iCUE sets you up quickly with minimal system's resources. In short, the standard controller allows you to have one button do the function of another. You can only swap them, so for instance have the X button do the job of LB. That means you’ll likely encounter some bugs, more frequent system updates, and are encouraged to provide feedback to help troubleshoot issues. Outside of taking screenshots or recording clips to show off later, the Share button probably goes largely unused by those who aren't often uploading media to whatever social media accounts they have connected. Or even if you do use it for that purpose, the times that happen could be few and far between compared to how often you may need to mute the TV or do something else.
Such as sending a message, searching, opening the guide, certain volume controls, and a number of other options. Best of all, it's not a hard process to initiate - just follow the steps we've laid out below to create your own custom control schemes however you like. Once you complete the steps, the profile will save the new changes or be removed from the app. Alternatively, you can also remap buttons by pressing and holding the button, stick, or triggers and pressing the button you want to map.
It lets you check the controller mappings for different situations and fix them when needed. You can manually map each input on the Pro Controller to any keystroke or gamepad input, but the default configuration should work for most games. This is helpful if any controls seem slightly off with the default settings; running in No Man's Sky by clicking the right stick was finicky without manual corrections. Before getting too excited, though, know that this isn't as extensive as what's possible with the Elite controller. As explained by Microsoft's Major Nelson, button remapping with a standard controller amounts to swapping button assignments. Up until now the new Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller was the only kind of controller that offered buttons remapping.
Once you back out of the screen by hitting B Button (or whatever button you mapped it to) it automatically saves the profile. You can create multiple profiles on your Xbox, and of course at any time you can go back to the default profile as well. Beyond PC compatibility, the Xbox controller boasts native compatibility on Steam Deck, plus recent versions of Android and iOS. So, whether you have a phone or tablet, this controller can easily connect via Bluetooth.
