Taitung City Tourism

Our guide Eric showed us educational videos which were helpful for me to better appreciate the history of the sites we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour for a good overview of the country at a reasonable price. It was a great trip with excellent 5-star hotels. The tour guide Alan Chou was professional, kind and funny.
Can’t see anything except white clouds or mist. This is a place we didn’t want to go, but added in the last minute because we allocated too many days for our Central Taiwan trip. We dislike overly-touristy places 台東 伴手 and Sun Moon Lake seemed like one based on research. The photos of it also didn’t seem spectacularly beautiful as compared to other lakes we’ve seen, e.g. Lake Toya in Hokkaido and Lake Pukaki in New Zealand.

The Dandy Hotel, Tianjin Branch was very comfortable and a great base. After visiting Taipei Main Station and Ximen, the other big areas for hotels, they did not appeal as much. Otherwise, Google Maps had super useful live times for buses and  which carriages were least crowded on trains.
I didn't do too much in Kaohsiung but i remember going to this art pier thing i think called The Pier-2 Art Center and going to Qi Jin, can bike around there, there's a fort on that island too. There's that lookout over the city Shoushan LOVE Lookout and further out is that nature area Chaishan. There's also that famous lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. There is E-DA Theme Park in kaohsiung though but not sure how good it is.
However we felt his introduction to everything was minimal. We were not enriched much culturally or scientifically by the tour. He didn’t pay much attention to people who were behind taking photos.  At one point four of us were lost on the way back to the bus because it was different from we were dropped off.

No regrets spending time at either of these night markets. Shilin probably has a slightly wider range of eats. As other people have mentioned, follow the crowd because there are differences when both stalls sell the same thing and one has no customers. Easycards – You can get them from dispensing machines near the MRT.
We got a ride from Taipei via the west coast through Hualien then onwards to Pingtung, the rail to Kaohsuing and train back up from Kaohsuing to Taipei. Not that bad; alot of chinese do have a very basic command of english. I'd definitely go back given half a chance and Taroko Gorge and Sun-Moon Lake are places highly recommended to hit up.

The average prices of hotels in Taitung City have been around $146 per night over the last 3 days. Enjoy the peaceful countryside and coastline at parks, such as Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area and the accompanying rock-strewn beaches. Cycle around Taitung Forest Park and its three lakes or take a boat to Green Island for snorkelling and soaking in saltwater hot springs. On My Way Taitung Hostel is located in Taitung City and offers free Wi-Fi. It also provides an express check-in and check-out feature, a tour desk and luggage storage. Kaishen Sinsu Hotel provides comfortable 3.5-star accommodation in Taitung City.
To help you organise your Taitung City trip ideas, this Taitung City visitors guide provides travel information and trip tips about how to get there, where to stay, what to do, where to eat and more. I'd check Google Maps for your hotel and see what it suggests. Your hotel might even have a shuttle bus pickup and drop-off service. There are lots of great places reachable from Taipei.
We are delighted to learn that you were satisfied with the attractions, transportation, etc. We are sorry that the tour guide’s repetitive instructions and reminders seemed to bother you. As it was a group tour, the tour guide needed to ensure that every participant followed his instruction to be safe; sometimes he had to keep on reminding the same things. For a full refund, you must cancel at least 7 full days before the experience’s start time. Pick-up is available at hotels or metro stations in downtown Taipei City. If the hotel lobby is located on an upper level, please meet the tour guide on the ground level of the hotel building.
